Wei Yingwu: Climb Baoyi Temple, From Above, Remember Past Travels
Climb Baoyi Temple, From Above, Remember Past Travels
登 宝 意 寺 上 方 旧 游
翠 岭 香 台 出 半 天
万 家 烟 树 满 晴 川。
诸 僧 近 住 不 相 识
坐 听 微 钟 记 往 年。
Deng Bao Yi Si Shang Fang Jiu You
Cui ling xiang tai chu ban tian
Wan jia yan shu man qing chuan. Zhu seng jin zhu bu xiang shi
Zuo ting wei zhong ji wang nian.
Climb Baoyi Temple, From Above, Remember Past Travels
Fragrant, emerald-green mountain range, towering tops half-way to heaven
Ten thousand houses and trees, full clear rivers through the mist.
Nearby, many Buddhist monks without me or them knowing who are their neighbors
I sit listening to small bells and remember former years.
Notes:
Baoyi Temple: Located near the capital city of Chang’an.
