Wang Wei: Waiting For Chu Guangyi Who Has Yet to Arrive
Waiting For Chu Guangyi Who Has Yet to Arrive
Dai Chu Guang Yi Bu Zhi
Chong men chao yi qi
Qi zuo ting che sheng.
Yao yu wen qing pei
Fang jiang chu hu ying.
Wan zhong ming shang yuan
Shu yu guo chun cheng.
Liao zi bu xiang gu
Lin tang kong fu qing.
Waiting for Chu Guangyi Who Has Yet to Arrive
Several palace doors already open
Sit and arise when hearing the sounds of a carriage.
Want and yearn to hear your two jade pieces click together
Already out the door to greet you.
Evening bell rings out over the enclosed orchard
Scattered rain passes over the springtime city.
Now I understand you are not coming to see me
Overlook again the empty hall, wishing you could come.
