Song Qian Mu Fu
Yi bie dou men san gai huo
Tian ya ta jin hong chen.
Yi ran yi xiao zuo chun wen.
Wu bo zhen gu jing
You jie shi qiu jun.
Chou chang gu fan lian ye fa
Song xing dan yue wei yun.
Zun qian bu yong cui mei pin.
Ren shen ru ni lu
Wo yi shi xing ren.

It has been three years of changing firewood since we worked in the palace together.
Since this time we have traveled to the far ends of earth and sky attending to
society’s affairs
As before, we laugh again like the warmth of spring.
Your heart-mind without waves, like the water in an ancient well
Your integrity like autumn bamboo surviving heavy winds.
Disappointed and sorry as your solitary boat quickly joins the night
Send you off into a crescent moon surrounded by wispy clouds.
Lady servant does not have to wear her makeup, or a smile
You and the human condition are like foreign travelers on a short visit
I am also like this transitory visitor.
