Xian Mountains: Send Off Xiao Yuanwai, Going to Jinzhou
Xian Mountains at a remote riverbend of the Ying River
Outer city walls in front of the river.
Live close to the place of Yang Gu
Today, others also sad remembering this good man.
Remaining sunlight falls onto this multistoried pavilion
City walls and streets leading to the river all look elegant.
Ravine bamboo forest, water sounds deepen appreciation
And the wind like people playing wind and string musical instruments.
Here the roc splashes the water before taking flight
One crane arises toward the sky.
Through several leaders, remain still and for a long time steadfast
Want to see you return with honors, and with a team of four horses.
Notes:
Jinzhou: City located in the province of Liaoning.
Roc: Literary allusion to the first of the Inner Chapters of Zhuangzi. A very large mythological bird.
