Remnants of Spring, Arrive Alone at This Pavilion, Missing Departed Friends

Can Chun Du Lai Nan Ting Yin Ji Zhang Hu

Nuan yun ru fen cao ru yin
Du bu chang di bu jian ren.
Yi ling tao hua hong jin yue
Ban xi shan shui bi luo xin.

Gao zhi bai she you qi niao
Dai ye li hua du song chun.
Zhong wei yu zhi he wai zai
Ku yin lin xia fu shi chen.

Remnants of Spring, Alone Arrive at This Pavilion, Missing Departed Friends

Warm clouds like a mattress of powdered grasses
No people seen, solitary walk atop the long embankments.
One mountain range of peach blossoms, like red and dark yellow brocade
Half of the mountain streams with waters a new greenish-blue silk gauze.

Tall branches have the deceptive mynah birds
Only pear trees with bearing blossoms send off the spring.
Want to know where are the likes of Zhang Wei
Perhaps in a forest, chanting emotional poems that run counter to the dust of this world.

Notes:

Zhang Wei: Man from the Jin Dynasty, famous for exhibiting a high level of integrity.
